Main Prayer Point
Pray for simple faith and devotion—not just religious activity.
At Enon, we plan and participate in many religious activities—and these are essential. Yet it’s possible to engage in them while our hearts remain far from God. In Isaiah 29, the Lord confronts His people about this very hypocrisy. Read verse 13 aloud, then use the reflection and prayer prompts below to guide your time of prayer.
Isaiah 29:13b
...this people draw near with their mouth
and honor me with their lips,
while their hearts are far from me,
and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men.

and honor me with their lips,
while their hearts are far from me,
and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men.
Reflect: Think about your normal spiritual activities (e.g. worship, prayer, bible reading). Are they motivated by a sincere love for Jesus?
Pray: Ask God to align your heart with your words and actions. Ask him to draw your heart close to Him.
Reflect: As a church, do we have only the appearance of godliness? Or do we have a holy reverence and love for God that motivates our spirituality?
Pray: Ask God to purify our motives and help our church draw near to him with simple faith and devotion. Thank Him for inviting us into fellowship with Him.
