Day 17

Prayer Point

Pray that we would develop deep spiritual friendships in the church (Life Groups, ministries, etc).

God desires His church to be marked by deep and lasting relationships. We are not merely people who gather in the same place; we are members of the same family. In Colossians 3:12–14, Paul describes how we are to relate to one another as God’s chosen people. Read the passage aloud, then use the reflection and prayer prompts below to guide your time of prayer.
Colossians 3:12–14
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
Reflect: Is there a person or even a group in the church you find difficult? How does being reminded that every believer is “chosen, holy, and beloved” shape the way you view them—and yourself?
Pray: Ask God to clothe you with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience toward others. Pray specifically and by name where needed.

Reflect: This passage tells us to forgive as the Lord has forgiven us. Is there anyone you need to forgive?
Pray: Ask the Lord for the grace and strength to forgive. If reconciliation is needed, pray for wisdom and discernment. (Note: Some situations may require outside counsel)
